Entangled Attraction

Entangled Attraction, a work that IAA commissioned from light artists Sally Weber and Craig Newswanger for our inaugural Oakland Festival of Immersive Arts, was later presented by the Exploratorium museum in San Francisco (pictured). In the darkened Osher Gallery 1, Black Box, visitors were treated to an array of 300 spiraling lights. With a score by Jonathan Crawford, this work explores the phenomenon known as persistence of vision and the uniquely human way we apprehend light and movement, making apparent order of chaos and complexity.
